Problem
As a nonprofit, Muncie Action Plan is run by a group of dedicated but stretched-thin volunteers. Their visual identity was dissonant and scattered, held together by an outdated logo. With a new identity design, including individual task force logos, they hoped primarily to define specific visual language for each aspect of their mission. Additionally, they hoped to increase membership in each task force, gain interest from Muncie communities, and raise additional funding.
Solution
After many sessions of ideation and deliberation within my Studio 165+ team, we decided to strategically modify and retain choice elements from the old identity to the new. Muncie Action Plan naturally pulls much of its inspiration from Muncie itself, which we communicated through the white river, road, and pin motifs. The task forces are visually connected to the main MAP logo and distinguished via color for quick identification.
