Problem
Color blindness affects 300 million people worldwide, including 1 in 12 males. The needs of the colorblind are often neglected in UI/
UX design through an over-reliance on color, inaccessible color palettes, and poor contrast. Colorblind people are excluded from a full experience of art museums, unable to recognize important aspects such as color language and mood.
Solution
I consulted web resources on color blindness/general accessibility guidelines and interviewed my color blind brothers to create Chromu, a color blindness accessibility app for the David Owsley Museum of Art. With Chromu, color blind users can identify problem colors using their phone camera or scan QR codes for more in-depth color analysis.
